Password Lock (Profile Builder/Crypton)

What is Password Lock?

Password Lock is a feature that enables you to add an extra layer of protection to programs like Profile Builder and Crypton by creating a unique password that will be required anytime the program is left idle for a specified amount of time. This password will also be used to further encrypt your program data. It is important to note that if you forget this password, the program data will be unrecoverable.

Enable Password Lock

Password lock is available for Profile Builder and Crypton. Remember that if you lose, or do not remember your password, the data in the program is not able to be recovered and will be permanently lost.

  1. Go to Settings and select the Password Lock category.
  2. Here you can set a password that will be used to unlock the program on startup and anytime the timeout is reached. We recommend that you store this password somewhere secure.
  3. After you set a password, you will be able to specify the Timeout in Minutes. This is the amount of time before the program will lock and will prompt your to enter the password you set above. If you only want the password to be required when the program starts, leave the timeout at 0.
  4. After you are satisfied with your selections, click on Save, and a confirmation dialog will appear. This will inform you that your data will be further encrypted using this password and that program data cannot be restored without it. After that, you will need to confirm your password by typing it again and clicking Proceed.
