Toolbox Applications - Settings - Backup / Restore / Reset

Introduction

The Toolbox applications all feature Backup and Restore options within the Settings. This allows you to create encrypted backups and quickly restore from an earlier point. Please note that all backups are encrypted and can be only accessed by the account that made them. All Toolbox applications include an auto backup feature.

Setup & Recommendations

  • You can configure auto backups, which automatically back up the program based on time intervals you can configure.

Save Auto Backup

1. Navigate to Settings > General in your Toolbox application. Click the Save Auto Backup button.

2. The Toolbox Application will create the auto-backup. An auto backup backs up everything in the application. A dialog will appear confirming the auto backup was saved successfully.

Save Backup

1. Navigate to Settings > General in your Toolbox application. Click the Save Backup button.

2. The Backup Options dialog will appear. You can select which sections of the application you want to back up.

3. After configuring the dialog, click the Save button.

4. A dialog will appear confirming you successfully backed up the application. Your file explorer will automatically open the file location with the saved backup.

Minimum Automatic Backup Interval

1. Navigate to Settings > General in your Toolbox application. Click the Minimum Automatic Backup Interval dropdown menu.

2. You can adjust how often the application's automatic backups occur. We recommend leaving this on default and only changing this setting if you are running low on storage space.

Restore

1. Navigate to Settings > General in your Toolbox application. Click the Restore button.

2. The Restore dialog will appear. You can select an auto-backup in the dialog or manually select a backup through File Explorer by clicking the blue spreadsheet icon at the bottom right of the dialog.

3. If you choose an Auto-Backup, the Auto-Backup dialog will appear. You can select one of the timestamps and then click the Restore button.

4. The Restore dialog will appear. You can select which sections of the program you want to restore.

5. After configuring the dialog, click the Next button.

6. A dialog will appear asking if you want to clear your existing data with the restore.

  • If you want to clear your existing data, click the Yes button.
  • If you do not want to clear the data, click the No button.

7. A dialog will appear confirming the backup was imported successfully.

Reset

1. Navigate to Settings > General in your Toolbox application. Click the Reset button.

2. The Reset dialog will appear. You can select which sections of the program you want to reset.

3. After configuring the dialog, click the Reset button.

4. A confirmation dialog will appear. If you are sure you want to reset the selected sections of the program, click the Yes button.

5. A confirmation dialog will appear confirming the selected features have been reset to factory defaults.
